Prudence Dudu Hlatshwayo, BA Social Work/Registered Nurse, Currently, I am working for our local municipality under the health department. I have also worked as a psychiatric social worker for a long time. Our working system does not allow us to specialise, due to workload and lack or resources, so we attend to all clients according to individual needs. As a local government we liase with non governmental agencies especially in terms of resources. Most of our clients expirience social ills because of poverty. We use the traditional casework groupwork and community development approach for most of our clients. Personally, I am keen to develop my knowledge professionally and career wise by sharing information with other social workers from all walks of life.
