Steve Natran, I work at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I cover the following areas: ER, ICU, CCU, and the MSU (Medical Satellite Unit - 6 West). Since 1990 I have had the opportunity to work in many areas including Medicine, Psychiatry, Surgery, Ambulatory Care, and Diabetes Education. My greatest joy is when I can hear what a patient is telling me, his or her needs, and I am able to muster the resources from either within the individual or community resource that meets those needs. Lise Robinson, I have been in the field it seems all my life as I come from a large Metis family of eight sibblings. Believe me living in a small house with limited resources team work was clearly a part of my life at a very young age. I am currently working in the are of community development focused on working with the Aboriginal community. I also do workshops in the area of family violence with the Aboriginal perspective. I was selected when I was younger to go on the Canada World Youth exchange program and did many community projects. I went to India and worked in a small village. Judy Lushman, BA, BSW, RSW, I work in St. John's, NL at the Wiseman Centre, a homeless shelter for men, between the ages of 30 and 64. My position there is Residential Counselor and some of what I do include in-depth assessments, individual and group work around life skill issues, advocacy work and make referrals to i.e. mental health services, counseling and other community organizations. The issues that our clients (residents) present with at our centre, often include addiction issues, mental health issues, relationship problems, extensive criminal history and grief issues.
